Profile - Sue Barlow - Studio Jeweller
Sue was born and bred in the Clare Valley, spreading her wings to explore further afield in her late teens and returning with her husband and two children 12 years later. She studied textiles and design at Darwin University and then completed an Associate Diploma of Fine Art majoring in jewellery design and manufacture at North Adelaide School of Art. Since graduating in 1991 she has continued to develop a unique style utilizing a wide variety of techniques that enhance and manipulate the surface of metal and creating jewellery pieces that best display this. The colours and textures of nature have also been a major influence in her work, using close-up photographs to inspire her to produce the patterns she creates on metal.
